Klamath is home to some of Oregon's most scenic, deepest and largest lakes. Each offers a unique way to enjoy the water in the warm summer sun:

  • Crater Lake National Park: America’s deepest lake, 5th National Park, renowned for its striking blue waters and pristine clarity. Enjoy scenic views along the rim of a lake created by the eruption of Mount Mazama, hike wildflower trails, see waterfalls, swim, or take a boat tour!
  • Lake of the Woods: A summer favorite for locals and visitors, this alpine lake offers swimming, fishing, boat rentals, and the iconic Lake of the Woods Resort. Enjoy a meal at the lakefront restaurant or rent a kayak for a peaceful paddle. Don’t miss their July 4th celebration and live music!
  • Upper Klamath Lake: Oregon's largest freshwater lake is a haven for birdwatchers and sailboaters. It's also a key stop along the Pacific Flyway, offering incredible wildlife encounters. The Skillet Handle paddling route and access points near Moore Park make it ideal for kayaking and SUPing during summer.
  • Crescent Lake & Odell Lake: Tucked against the Cascade crest, both lakes are perfect for summer fishing, swimming, and scenic picnics. Surrounded by trails and campgrounds, these lakes offer a peaceful seasonal escape into nature. If you’re looking to relax on the beach shore, Crescent Lake is the perfect serene getaway. For more action, Odell Lake is known for it’s afternoon winds, creating the perfect climate for windsurfing!
  • Wilderness Lakes: For the backcountry enthusiast, Fourmile Lake and smaller hidden gems throughout the Sky Lakes Wilderness provide solitude, stellar stargazing, and crystal-clear water during the warmest months.
