Located on Campus Drive just off Highway 97, enjoy fast, accurate and friendly service. The kids will love the huge indoor play area.
Continue your trip on Hwy 97 North to the Crater Lake junction (Hwy 62).
Fort Klamath Fish Hatchery
Visit the hatchery, constructed in 1929, where trophy sized and fingerling Rainbow trout, Brown trout, and Cutthroat trout are raised for release into Klamath Country waters. This is a harvest program used to enhance and maintain fisheries without impairing naturally reproducing fish populations. The kids will love feeding the swirling hungry trout!
Heading back on Hwy 62, turn left on South Chiloquin Road (you'll see a big church on the corner).
Klamath & Western Railroad
Lots of fun for the whole family! Located about 25 miles north of Klamath Falls on Highway 97, Klamath & Western Railroad offers free rides on 7-1/2 scale model trains over 2 miles of track owned by Train Mountain every Sunday from May 28th to Sept. 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are also open on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. They have a snack bar with burgers, chips, lattes and drinks. Come take a ride and enjoy a picnic amongst the trees.

Train Mountain is a private membership organization with 69,900 feet (13¼ miles) of 7½? gauge mainline track and 133,250 feet (25¼ miles) of total trackage, which includes yards, sidings, and connector tracks.
Continuing on South Chiloquin Road, cross Hwy 97 to go into the town of Chiloquin.

Collier Memorial State Park & Logging Musesum
This unique outdoor logging museum about 30 miles north of Klamath Falls contains an array of equipment and items that display the region's logging history from the mid-1800's to the late 1900's. The grounds include a pioneer village and are a part of the larger park, which offers camping, picnicking, trails, fishing and day-use.
Railroad buffs will enjoy learning about the role the railroad played in logging. You can imagine the rugged woodsmen and the immense task of moving raw timber with innovation and brute force. The pioneer village gives you another insight into how these families once lived.
Collier State Park across the street from the museum provides easy access to the Williamson River and Spring Creek, both fabulous fishing areas. Fishing licenses start at $12 and can be purchased at Wal Mart, Big R, and other local sporting good retailers.
Happy Trails Cowboy Campground
This is a fun, funky camp area just north of Collier State Park. Bob offers wrangled-led horseback rides out to the vantage point at the mouth of the Williamson River Canyon. If you prefer, take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the woods to the Williamson River. Spectacular views!

OC&E Woods Line State Trail:
Experience Klamath Country by biking Oregon's longest linear state park. This multi-use trail sits upon the old OC&E railway which brought timber into Klamath Falls mills. The Rails to Trails group helped to convert it into this 100 mile long trail. Access the trail from Washburn Way and ride to Olene. This section is 8 miles in length, all paved, and offers pastoral settings.
When you get to Olene, buy an ice cream sandwich at the Olene Store and relax in th peaceful surroundings before heading back to Klamath Falls.

Lava Beds National Monument
Approximately one mile south of Merrill, turn right (south) on Malone Road. Travel south on Malone Road approximately 2 miles until you reach Stateline Road 161. Turn left (east) and then take the immediate right at Westside Market onto Hill Road. Travel south on Hill Road 10 miles until you enter Lava Beds National Monument. Stop by the visitor center for Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge on your way to the monument for hard hats and lanterns.
With more than 450 lava tube caves, the greatest concentration in North America, you can spend the majority of the day as spelunkers. You may also choose to take a guided tour of Fern Cave - Reservations are required (call 530-667-8113) , or walk the many easy trails throughout the park. In addition, the monument encompasses the main battlefields of the Modoc War of 1872-73 and nearby is the site of the WWII Japanese Internment Camp outside Tulelake, California. The monument also includes Petroglyph Point, one of the largest panels of Native American rock art in the United States.
After leaving the Lava Beds, follow Hwy 39 to Malin, OR.

Lake of the Woods Resort
This high mountain lake resort sits beside one of the most beautiful and rare natural lakes found in the Southern Oregon Cascades. Bring your boat, or rent one from the marina. Fishing is great - this small lake holds some of the biggest German Browns in the whole state, maybe even the West Coast. You can also catch rainbow trout, perch, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and largemouth bass.
Other outdoor activities include swimming…there are a couple of designated swimming areas….scuba diving, or sailing.
Food/Dining Choices
The General Store
This store with its old green shelves is stocked with everything from Jacks to Jell-O. There are also old-fashioned treats of candies and toys you probably haven't seen since childhood. Whether you choose to make sandwiches or cook hot dogs or hamburgers they'll have what you need.
Lake of the Woods Lodge Restaurant
Lunch may be taken in the restaurant, or with a special to go order for your picnic placed at the main lodge. Guests can pre-order a picnic lunch with 24 hours notice. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All dinner entrée's are served with fresh vegetables, salad or homemade soup. The evening dining experience may end with old movies, puzzles, a spirited dart game, impromptu sing-a-longs, maybe a little dancing or a moonlit stroll home to your cabin.
Cabins or Campground - Lodging
You have several choices in lodging for the evening. You may choose to camp if you have an RV or tent. The resort has campsites which include full hookups, electric/water, or tent sites. Restrooms and showers are available as well.
The resort has several historic cabins as well as a few park-model cabins. Some have fire-view gas stoves, others have hot tubs on their decks - all are layered with Pendleton blankets, myrtlewood lamps and art reminiscent of days gone by. Reservations are highly recommended.

Wingwatcher's Nature Trail
Klamath Wingwatchers developed this easy 1.1 mile long trail along the western shore of Lake Ewauna. Park at Veterans Park and walk over the bridge to the trailhead. Over 1100 trees and shrubs provide shelter and food for the many species of wildlife that inhabit the area, including Pelicans and Grebes. The eagle perch along the trail is used year round by bald eagles and cormorants. Since this is a wildlife area, there is no camping or fires, no motor vehicles, no littering. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
